Hair art is an old 19th century pass time.
Often you see hair flowers made into beautiful shadowboxes and jewelry.
In our present day there are no blank brooches, lockets, or other findings available for
the artist to place their hairwork into.
The hair artist just have to search or design
their own means of presenting their work.
I recently found this charming Victorian Style brooch that I believe works quite nicely
for hair art.
Especially for the new artist or the civil war re-enactor to display and resale their
work.

This Victorian style
brooch is made of pewter. It measures app. 2 1/4 inches long. (overall) It is not old, but is perfect for an inexpensive means of displaying small hair work flowers. It would look great in a memorial shadow box as a casing for your work of art. Or you could wear it or give it as a gift to your love one with your own hair inside.
